　　on 1 december 1955, a black woman named rosa, in the city of montgomery, alabama, was arrested by the government for refusing to cede to a white man and fined $10 for violating the apartheid law. this move by the government was strongly resisted by the local blacks. 　　Rosa is the secretary of the local Association of Colored People, who is also considered to be “one of the best citizens of the city of Montgomery”, and the local Association of Colored People decides that Rosa will sue the authorities.
