on 1 december 1955, a black woman named rosa, in the city of montgomery, alabama, was arrested by the government for refusing to cede to a white man and fined $10 for violating the apartheid law. this move by the government was strongly resisted by the local blacks. Rosa is the secretary of the local Association of Colored People, who is also considered to be “one of the best citizens of the city of Montgomery”, and the local Association of Colored People decides that Rosa will sue the authorities. The Colored People's Association printed about 35,000 flyers, which says, "Don't take these buses to work on Monday、Into town、go to school and don't sit anywhere.” calling on the black people to resist the strike on monday, 5 december, on the public transport system in the city of montgomery, it was decided to boycott the day before planning for the next step. as a result of the government's refusal to cooperate, martin luther king, who had just become a pastor and father, was elected by blacks as chairman of the montgomery city promotion council, leading everyone forward. he called on everyone to stop suffering humiliating decisions, unite to fight and decide to boycott buses indefinitely until there was a fair agreement.
