Synopsis:The poet Andrei (played by Oleg Yankovsky), accompanied by the beautiful female translator Eugenia (played by Domiziana Giordano), went to Italy to find an eighteenth-century Composer life. Together they visited a rural church full of imagery and stopped in an ancient town with a natural hot spring. At this time, he meets Dominic (Erland Josephson), a madman who is not understood by the world. The villagers thought he was insane because he imprisoned his family earlier. But Andre saw Dominic's crazy intentions and was attracted to him. At the same time, he rejected Eugene's love. At this time, Andre was wandering in a world of fragmented reality and surreal dreams, unable to extricate himself. He missed his motherland and was separated from his family...all kinds of emotions were mixed together and entangled with each other, turning into lifelong nostalgia. The film won the Best Director Award at the 1983 Cannes Festival, the General Jury Award, and the International Film Critics FIPRESCI Award.
