Synopsis： in the context of world war i, the film tells the story of the escape of three french prisoners from german concentration camps. Three French pilots were shot down in one mission, Podio、mike and rosenthal were taken to the prisoner of war camps. both podio and german prison director rovenstein are of noble birth, share a common political opinion and are friends in prison. the three men subsequently discovered that their fellow prisoners were planning to escape and that they had dug a way out. mike and rosenthal also joined the excavations. in the end, they escaped from prison in groups and the german army pursued them with all their energy. in the course of their flight, podio was defeated by rovenstein, and two french prisoners, mike and rosenthal, fled to the home of a german farmer, who, with her help, fled to switzerland through various waves.
