Synopsis:During the Cold War in the 1910s, British spy Alec Leamas (played by Richard Burton) was stationed in West Berlin for many years to engage in espionage operations. However, after witnessing the murder of his colleagues lurking in East Germany by the East German border guards, Alek returned to the headquarters of the British Secret Service to accept the ultimate secret mission. In order to infiltrate East Germany, Alek deliberately exposed his weaknesses, even his depravity, in order to drive a wedge between the head of the East German agency Muente (Peter van Eyck) and his subordinate Fidler (Oscar Venet). (Oskar Werner), disintegrating its power. However, under the confusing mask of a double agent, Alek gradually discovered that he was nothing more than an insignificant pawn.
