Synopsis：During World War II, in the German-occupied Poland, the plumber Podek (Robert Wieckiewicz) and his partner Zapek also acted as thieves, and the intricate sewers became their best hideout and storage room. He did business with the city's blocked Jewish quarter, was an old acquaintance with Ukrainian officers in the German army, and enjoyed a little freedom in troubled times. Soon the Germans began to hunt down Jews. Some Jews who did not want to be taken to concentration camps reached a deal with Podek and were given the opportunity to hide in the sewers on a per capita basis.
