Synopsis：The story takes place in 1845, when the Great Migration to the West has just begun. In order to cross that barren and dangerous wilderness, in addition to enough courage and luck, wisdom is essential. Three families decided to leave their homeland and find a new life. In order to protect themselves, they found a guide named Mick (Bruce Greenwood), hoping that he could escort them to their destination safely. However, as everyone drifted further and further away on Mick's so-called short road, the increasingly desolate scenes and increasingly unfamiliar environment told them that they were lost. Resources are gradually being depleted, and hunger, thirst and panic are gradually consuming people's will. Just when everyone feels that there is no way out, the arrival of a local indigenous person brings new hope. However, they are not sure whether the person coming is a friend or an enemy.
