Synopsis：Chavez (Harry Dean Stanton) was lost in the desolate desert of Texas and died because of his physical weakness. The hospital contacted his brother walter (dean stockwell) to pick him up. After being discharged from the hospital, Chavez remained silent until he saw the "Paris, Texas" sign and finally spoke. Returning to his brother's house in Los Angeles, Chavez met his son, Hunter (played by Hunter Carson). The younger brother and sister are actually their adoptive father and mother. But Hunter didn't accept the suddenness. Later, Chavez regained the child's heart in a very special way. Through communication, Chavez learned about the whereabouts of the child's biological mother, Jane (Natasha Kinski). As a result, father and son embarked on a road to find their mother... The film won the Palme d'Or for Best Film at the 37th Cannes Festival.
