Synopsis:Before World War I, the German ancestor (Oskar Werner) and Renzhan (Henri Serre) met in Paris. They have similar interests and have a strong and common interest in poetry and novels. They are even fascinated by the same sculpture. Naturally, both Zu and Zhan fell in love with the same woman: the smart and beautiful Catherine (played by Jeanne Moreau). In such a relationship, Zhan chose to fulfill the gentle and simple ancestor. They vacationed together in the countryside and had a wonderful time. However, the outbreak of World War I caused them to lose contact. While serving in their own country, they were so worried that they would kill their friends on the Internet. Zu, on the other hand, never stopped writing letters to his wife Catherine. After the war, Zu and Zhan met again. Zhan realized that the relationship between Zu and Catherine was very bad - she had never stopped pursuing relationships outside of marriage and liked to enjoy freedom in various love relationships. When Zhan lives in his ancestral home, Catherine makes no secret of her love for Zhan. This triangle relationship is balanced and happily maintained, and others cannot see through it at all. When Zhan was about to leave, Catherine's directness and sharpness made things change...
